The Tsechu Cham festival is a vibrant and culturally significant event celebrated primarily in Himalayan region,Himalayas rich cultural heritage and deep-rooted Buddhist traditions. Tsechu, meaning "tenth day," usually corresponds to the lunar calendar's tenth day of the month, marking the birthday of Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava, the revered saint who introduced Buddhism.
The festival is characterized by colourful masked dances, religious rituals, and performances that depict stories from Buddhist mythology and history. It holds immense spiritual significance for the Buddhist people, serving as a time for both religious devotion and community bonding.
During the festival, monks and laypeople gather at monasteries and temples across region to participate in prayers, rituals, and ceremonial dances.
